Municipal problems can be reported any time of day
Have you struggled to get waste removed or had a river of water running down your lawn due to a burst pipe?

MALALANE – If so, did you know you can report it to the Nkomazi Local Municipality via its 24-hour hotline?
Municipal spokesman Mr Cyril Ripinga urges residents to call the municipality’s call centre on 013-790-0990 to help it improve its service delivery.
Any problems that have to do with the municipality – from street lights that are not working and burst pipes to dirty water and rubbish – should be reported immediately.

“If you don’t have airtime, just give us a buzz and we’ll call you back,” Ripinga stated. Once a resident has reported a matter, a reference number will be allocated to them. Within 24 hours the problem must be resolved and a follow-up call made to find out whether the problem has been dealt with.
“Every week we check on complaints and see whether it has been resolved,” Ripinga explained.
He stated that one of the municipality’s greatest problems is people not reporting such issues. “We can’t know about everything. We need the community’s cooperation to deal with all of the little things. If we don’t know about the problem, we can’t fix it.”
The municipality also has a Facebook page where issues can be reported.
Residents were also urged to report municipal employees who do not do their job properly or abuse municipal vehicles.
