Biker safe after getting trapped underwater

SABIE – A man from Johannesburg has lived to tell the story after his motorcycle capsized into a dam near Sabie earlier on Saturday.

According to the SAPS dive unit’s Capt Pottie Potgieter, the man drove or fell into the river with his motorcycle.

It has not yet been confirmed exactly how the accident occured.

The driver was trapped under the bike underwater, but managed to free himself and swim so safety.

Police were called to the scene. His bike was retrieved from the water.
