BREAKING NEWS: Protesters block entrance to Rob Ferreira Hospital

The crowed gathered around lunch time, demanding the head of the Department of Health address their concerns.

MBOMBELA – Around 50 employees of Rob Ferreira Hospital blocked the entrance this afternoon, demanding the current CEO resign.

No vehicles were allowed in or out of the hospital. The crowed gathered around lunch time, demanding the head of the Department of Health address their concerns.

At the heart of the protest is alleged corruption within the hospital. “We want the previous CEO back,” one of the protesters told Lowvelder.

A representative convinced the crowd to organise themselves into their respective unions, before they agreed to disperse.  The gates were opened and operations returned to normal at around 15:00.

The group now plans to raise their concerns through a formal letter to the HOD.
