As part of the Walk and Learn on the Wild Side project, pupils from schools in the Bohlabela district near Hazyview and Bushbuckridge were taken to Skukuza Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park where they learned more about conservation and the park itself.

This implementation event ran for five days with 40 learners of the different schools per day visiting.

The participating schools were Bombani High School, NP Mathabela High School, Sekhukhusa High School, Makata High School and Mbhandule High School.

The learners had the opportunity to experience what they are being taught at school (experiential learning) and were given a SANParks presentation, visited a career exhibition and went to various working stations.

They could also enjoy a sunset game drive.
