Sharp mind takes girl far

A young girl proved that no obstacle can hold children with disabilities back.
Eleven-year-old Prudence Nonyane recently scooped five certificates and three trophies for her academic achievements at Tubatse Primary School.

According to the principal, Mpho Chiloane, Prudence is doing her utmost in her academics despite her disability.

“She is doing very well in every subject. The only challenge she encounters is participating in sports,” Chiloane said.

She said pupils with disabilities may have emotional, social and developmental barriers to learning and they need much support from their parents, guardians and the community as a whole. This is to ensure that they stay positive and are encouraged that their disabilities do not prevent them from doing great things in their lives.
