Block 14 to be affected as load-shedding is announced

The power utility further stated that it may continue for the rest of the week.

Eskom earlier today announced that due to a severely constrained system, load-shedding stage 2 will be implemented from 12:00 and will be suspended at 22:00.

The power utility further stated that it may continue for the rest of the week, and should any further deterioration in the generation performance occur, it may necessitate the escalation of load-shedding at short notice.

Eskom attributed the sudden announcement to multiple unit breakdowns. “Ten generation units at seven power stations suffered breakdowns in the least 48 hours,” it said.

According to information to this publication’s disposal, block 14 will be the only area that will be affected as block 10 is still free from load-shedding for the duration of the current state of disaster.
