Covid-19: Mpumalanga confirmed cases as of September 2

South Africa has recorded 630 595 confirmed infections, according to an announcement by the minister of health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, on Wednesday, September 2. A total of 24 594 of those cases have been reported in Mpumalanga.

According to data released by the Mpumalanga Department of Health, there have been 23 004 recoveries and 351 deaths to date.

The number of positive cases in the province can be broken down as follows:

Ehlanzeni District

• Bushbuckridge: 700 cases, 654 recoveries and six deaths
• City of Mbombela: 4 093 cases, 3 795 recoveries and 26 deaths
• Nkomazi: 1 903 cases, 1 812 recoveries and six deaths
• Thaba Chweu: 356 cases and 339 recoveries and one death.

Gert Sibande District

• Chief Albert Luthuli: 665 cases, 625 recoveries and five deaths
• Dipaliseng: 331 cases and 319 recoveries and one death
• Dr Pixely Ka Isaka Seme: 869 cases, 802 recoveries and 14 deaths
• Govan Mbeki: 3 362 cases, 3 156 recoveries and 28 deaths
• Lekwa: 1 064 cases, 966 recoveries and 55 deaths
• Mkhondo: 498 cases, 448 recoveries and 21 deaths
• Msukaligwa: 1 430 cases, 1 296 recoveries and 40 deaths.

Nkangala District

• Dr JS Moroka: 357 cases, 335 recoveries and seven deaths
• eMakhazeni: 387 cases and 344 recoveries and 13 deaths
• eMalahleni: 5 124 cases, 4 896 recoveries and 57 deaths
• Steve Tshwete: 2 415 cases, 2 226 recoveries and 43 deaths
• Thembisile Hani: 603 cases, 567 recoveries and 20 deaths
• Victor Khanye: 438 cases and 424 recoveries and eight deaths.
