Monday load-shedding: stage 1 followed by stage 2

Much to the relief of Mbombela residents, especially those residing in block 14, load-shedding was reduced to stage 1 yesterday.

Eskom this morning announced that stage 1 load-shedding will continue this morning, followed by stage 2 from 16:00 to 22:00.

Much to the relief of Mbombela residents, especially those residing in block 14, load-shedding was reduced to stage 1 yesterday.

This pattern (stage 1 from 08:00 to 16:00 and stage 2 from 16:00 to 22:00) will repeat tomorrow (Tuesday) and will likely continue until Wednesday. “The system remains unreliable and vulnerable,” Eskom said in a statement.

“Load-shedding was necessary this weekend in order to replenish the emergency generation reserves which were depleted over the past week. Eskom expects several generation units to return to service during the next few days which will help ease the supply constraints,” is said.

Block 14 will be without power from 09:00 this morning to 11:30, and block 1 will have no electricity between 11:00 and 13:30. Block 3 and Block 10 will remain exempt.
