Shop manager, assistant and security guard in court over assault and murder charges in Carolina
They were taken to hospital after the incident had been reported to police by the surviving victim.

Last Friday, three men of Carolina were arrested on kidnapping, assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, and murder charges. The three, aged between 30 and 32 years old, appeared in the Carolina Magistrate’s Court yesterday following the assault on two victims on August 14. One of them died after the attack.

According to the Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Brig Leonard Hlathi, the trio stopped the two victims and forced them into their vehicle.
“It is alleged that the two were forced by the suspects into their vehicle and were taken to a storeroom, where they were severely assaulted with an iron pipe as a form of punishment for allegedly insulting a colleague,” said Hlathi.

They were taken to hospital after the incident had been reported to police by the surviving victim. The other died in hospital last Tuesday.
“Preliminary investigations have since revealed that among the men involved in the whole saga, is the manager of a local chain store, his assistant and a security guard,” Hlathi concluded.
