MEC for agriculture hands over equipment to farmers living with disabilities

Shongwe spent the day visiting farms owned by people living with disabilities.

Agriculture, rural development, land and environmental affairs MEC, Vusi Shongwe, handed over farming equipment to small-scale farmers living with disabilities on Friday in KaBokweni.

Shongwe spent the day visiting farms owned by people living with disabilities. Together they ploughed crops donated by the department of agriculture.

The department also held a farewell for a group of 26 young veterinarians in White River on Thursday. They were part of the 2020 Compulsory Community Service (CCS) programme.

It is coordinated by the national Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Land Reform and aims to ensure that animal health services reach the rural parts of the country.
