Bergvlam welcomes new Vlammies
Hoërskool Bergvlam officially welcomed its grade eights for 2021 with an inauguration ceremony on March 31.
Each of the new Vlammies was given a chance to ring the ceremonial bell, thus welcoming them to the school. By ringing the bell, the grade eights change from being “Sparkis” to being full-fledged Vlammies.
The tradition has been done for years and this year was no exception. The ceremony was held on the school’s pavilion so as to comply with Covid-19 regulations.

The grade eights have now successfully completed several school traditions, meaning they deserve to be true members of the school.
They still have to perform the annual grade eight concert.
