Do your bit for Mandela Day and help a girl in need

A beautiful seven-year-old girl who suffers from progressive dystonia, a genetically heterogeneous group of movement disorders, is in desperate need of financial assistance to make the required in-theatre procedure on both her legs possible.

An amount of R30 000 is needed to enable this girl to regain a normal functioning of her legs and to lead a normal life. The procedure will be done by Prof Ruan Goller, an orthopaedic surgeon of Pretoria, and is rather costly.

Since the new Protection of Personal Information Act came into effect on July 1, Pediatric Care Africa (PCA), the drive behind the fundraising, may no longer give out personal information regarding her identity and medical condition.

PCA urged the community to aid the family by donating towards her funds.
