Tracy Todd-Heine battles Covid in local hospital
The Lowveld's own “Brave Lotus Flower”, Tracy Todd-Heine, is fighting for her life in a local hospital after being diagnosed with Covid-19 two weeks ago.

Todd-Heine originally refused to be admitted to hospital as she did not want to go without her two caregivers, Henry Sinclair, her father, told Lowvelder.
“Her room at home was eventually fitted with everything she would need for treatment as if she was in hospital.”
Her medical team had been visiting her at home to ensure she received the best treatment.
In the meantime, her son, Chad Todd, was urgently flown in from Nigeria where he works as a soil technologist.
He arrived in Mbombela early on Wednesday morning.
Later the same day her medical team made the call that she had to be admitted to hospital as she needed more specialised treatment. Among others, she had to get a supplement drip that cannot be administered to her at home.
According to her husband, Roy Heine, the hospital gave her a private room which she is now sharing with her caregivers.
“Tracy is comfortable after being admitted to hospital due to phlegm on her chest and it was difficult to cough. She had an X-ray of her chest this morning, a feeding tube was inserted in her neck and there is a drip for pain which has been inserted in her hand.”

“She is also on oxygen. She looks comfortable and rosy, a big improvement from yesterday,” Heine said.
Well-wishes are streaming in on a WhatsApp group which was created to keep people informed regarding her progress.
