Bloodbank and Kind2Hearing exchange services
The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) and Kind2Hearing came together last week to exchange blood for hearing tests in an effort to create awareness for their respective causes.
The Kind2Hearing team (from both Crossing Shopping Centre and Busamed Lowveld Private Hospital) carried out free hearing screenings for the staff of the SANBS, whereafter they in turn donated blood.

The audiologists from Kind2Hearing recommend that people of all ages should look out for the following symptoms:
• Difficulty hearing in the presence of background noise,
• Asking for repetition,
• difficulty hearing the television or over the phone,
• A ringing in the ears,
• Difficulty participating in conversations without visual input.

Audiologists recommend early detection and intervention when it comes to hearing loss, as one tends to lose certain functions if they are not used.
