Court appearance of three accused of murdering Hetta Potgieter moved to August 4

The murder trial was initially set to commence on July 26.

The three accused of the 2018 murder of Hetta Potgieter (85), made a brief appearance in the Mbombela High Court this morning.

The accused, Shaun Oosthuizen (40), John du Plooy (28) and Maryna Vorster (50) appeared in the court for the start of the murder trial this morning.

However, the spokesperson for the Mpumalanga NPA, Monica Nyuswa, said the matter had been moved to Wednesday August 4 for consultation.

The police had arrested the three accused shortly after Potgieter had been found dead in her Macadamia Care Centre apartment on July 2, 2018. They face charges of murder and house robbery.
