Baby discovered in i’langa mall is happy and healthy
The newborn was found by two i'langa Mall employees on Thursday afternoon, August 12.
The little baby who had been found crying underneath a sink in a bathroom at i’langa Mall two weeks ago, is said to be healthy and doing well.
Nokuthula Milazi and Thandi Dladla had heard the baby crying while they were in the bathroom situated near Woolworths, getting ready to go home. The pair named the baby Fred Langa Smit.
Pediatric Care Africa (PCA) and the CMR arranged for the newborn to be seen by a doctor soon after he was found, before having him taken to a safe haven in Middelburg.

The PCA secretary, Surika van der Merwe, said little Freddy is a healthy baby and is doing very well at the haven.
She said it is likely the haven will wait three months to see if the mother comes to claim her child, before putting him up for adoption.
