Mel Botes delights at Nagkantoor

The Nagkantoor hosted the ever-popular Afrikaans musician and poet, Mel Botes, on Sunday October 31.

With blue skies and the sun shining, music lovers sat scattered across the outside area of Nagkantoor under the shade of large umbrellas to shield themselves from the heat as they enjoyed the guitar-playing and singing of Mel Botes.

Starting out with his acoustic guitar, Botes switched mid-set to his electric guitar, playing some blues for the intimate crowd.

Botes also took requests from his audience.

Show attendants Shaun Cowell, Albert O’Neill and Danie Nortjé said they found the performance fantastic and that Botes and his music were definitely something to experience live.

“He is an extremely talented guitarist and singer. We are glad to be out here today watching and listening to him,” said the group.

Botes’ show started at 12:30 at Nagkantoor on Sunday.
