Six people die in crash on R38

Six people were killed when two sedans collided head-on on the R38 between Kaapmuiden and Barberton.

The accident happened at around 20:00 on December 16. According to the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, “the deceased, two males and four females, died on the scene and include both drivers.

“Three people who sustained serious injuries were rushed to a nearby hospital in Mbombela for medical treatment.

“The cause of the crash is not known at this stage and an investigation is already under way.”
