Accident on Sekukhune Road claims one life

A VW Polo and a Toyota Corolla were in a head-on collision on Friday May 27 at approximately 06:30. Emergency workers were called out to the scene.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla passed away on impact and his passenger sustained internal injuries.
The two passengers of the VW Polo and the driver were stabilised before being transported to Lydenburg Hospital. They also sustained serious injuries with possible internal bleeding and abrasions.

N3 Fire and Rescue, the Lydenburg Traffic Department, the provincial ambulance services and the Lydenburg SAPS were present on scene. It was cleared by 10:30.

The name of the deceased will only be released once his next of kin have been informed.
