Three suspects to appear in Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court for possession of unlicensed firearms
The three suspects were arrested in Brown Street on June 9 after the police had been tipped off about their movements.

The provincial police commissioner, Lt Gen Semakaleng Manamela, applauded the Nelspruit police for arresting three suspects aged between 32 and 34 on June 9, for the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court today, on June 10.
According to the report, the police had received information about a white Isuzu bakkie with three occupants driving around the city, allegedly carrying firearms. They immediately followed up on the information.

They spotted the vehicle along Brown Street in the CBD, stopped it, and upon searching it, found two firearms and a bagful of cable ties, which the police suspected were going to be used to commit a robbery. The suspects were then arrested.


The SAPS said it could not rule out the possibility of linking the suspects to other cases around Mbombela and White River.
Manamela applauded the members for their vigilance and alertness.
