Store in Riverside, Mbombela, falls prey to cellphone robbery

An undisclosed number of cellphones were stolen from a store in the Riverside area on June 10.

So said Const Bongani Mokoena, the spokesperson for the Nelspruit SAPS. He said the incident happened at around 17:30.

Hi-Tech confirmed its special services were called out to the scene of an armed robbery at that time.

“The suspects had already fled the scene – it was reported they had fled on foot from the area. Eyewitnesses reported two gunshots had been fired, but no injuries were reported,” said the company.
