Nelspruit SPCA outreach helps dogs, pigs and chickens
The Nelspruit SPCA visited a few areas around Mbombela last week to educate and help the community with any animal welfare issues.
The Nelspruit SPCA held an outreach in the Matsafeni/Mataffin and Rocky Drift areas last week.
The outreach included the distribution of food and bedding, the provision of shelter for dogs, rabies vaccinations and treatment for parasites.

“Prevention of cruelty is our main mission and reason for our existence,” said the Nelspruit SPCA in a Facebook post on June 24.

“By educating our communities to take proper care of their animals we can prevent welfare issues and assist them to improve the health and living conditions of their animals,” said the post.

The SPCA said that they still need dog kennels, shade nets, canvas, blankets and food for dogs, chickens and pigs.
“We will appreciate any donation to help the animals in these areas. Animals are sentient beings with physical and emotional needs and it is our duty to ensure that they live the best life possible,” said the SPCA.
