Used car dealership in Mbombela’s staff held at gunpoint, bakkies stolen
The suspects had held up the personnel for over an hour before fleeing in three of the dealership's bakkies.
Three bakkies were stolen from Bartrio Auto in Brown Street, Sonheuwel, by six armed men this afternoon, July 5, at about 14:10.
Bartrio Auto owner Johan Barnard said the six men had entered the premises and held several staff members up at gunpoint for over an hour.
He said the men robbed the office and the staff of their cellphones and laptops before fleeing from the dealership in three of its bakkies, a double-cab Toyota Cruiser and two double-cab Toyota Hiluxes.
Barnard said the police attended the scene and a case has been opened.
