67 Blankets donates to Rob Ferreira

The staff at Rob Ferreira Hospital were grateful to have been chosen for 67 Blankets' outreach for Mandela Day.

Every year 67 Blankets has a scarf day in July. People around South Africa make beautiful scarves to give to the needy just in time for winter.

This year it was decided to thank and honour all the frontline workers for their dedicated service during the pandemic.

The Lowveld Knitwits chose Rob Ferreira Hospital as its recipient.

A group, lead by Penny Boden and Carol Stephen, and accompanied by representatives from Johannesburg, adorned the beautiful auditorium of the hospital with over 300 scarves and beanies.

The management and staff of the hospital were delighted with their gifts of love and appreciation.

The communication officer of the hospital, Ntokozo Skonelo, said the hospital was extremely grateful for the gesture.

The organisation was received and welcomed by the chief executive officer of the hospital, Fridah Nyathi, who was also appreciative of the gesture shown by the 67 Blankets on Mandela Day.

“We are thankful to have been chosen. The gifts given to staff are a token of appreciation to all workers who soldiered on during the Covid-19 pandemic. Motivating our staff should be a daily thing and we take pride in appreciating them. This definitely brought smiles to our employees.”
