School uniforms for learners of Pilgrim’s Rest
Mandela Day celebrations continued past July 18, to show kindness to the less fortunate.

On Wednesday July 27 the Mpumalanga SAPS handed over school uniforms to some learners of Pilgrim’s Rest Primary School.
The event formed part of the Mandela Day celebrations where each person was encouraged to spend 67 minutes and show kindness by adding value to someone who is less fortunate.

The occasion was led by Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela (provincial police commissioner Mpumalanga SAPS), police management, local councillors, officials from the Department of Basic Education, local traffic officials and members of the public.
“The poverty some of these children stay in prompted the police to take action and provide the uniforms. They hope that this will inspire the children to achieve great things in life,” said Manamela.
