Thaba Chweu hosts Umzumbe Local Municipality to improve tourism

The Umzumbe Local Municipality is situated on the lower south coast of KwaZulu-Natal and shares similar landscapes and attributes as Thaba Chweu.

On Thursday July 21 the Umzumbe Local Municipality joined the Thaba Chweu Local Municipality (TCLM) which is Graskop, Sabie and Lydenburg at the Graskop Gorge Lift Company.

The Graskop Gorge is seen as a benchmark model for eco-tourism. A project like this enhances and promotes local economic growth.

The Thaba Chweu Local Economic Development Agency (Thadelda) and the Graskop Gorge Lift Company will facilitate the process. The Thaba Chweu team will soon visit the Umzumbe Municipality for further engagements.
The TCLM delegation was led by Friddah Nkadimeng, TCLM executive mayor, accompanied by Cllr Quintin Lawrance (MMC for finance and technical services), Cllr Dikeledi Sibanyoni (MMC for community services, LED and planning), Cllr George Sangxu, Cllr Tshepo Mokoena and senior management.

The visitors were taken on a tour of the Panorama Route to sample some of the best products and experiences that Thaba Chweu has to offer.
