Afri Orchids will display a large range of plants during its garden festival

Afri Orchids is a specialist nursery that focuses on species from around the world.

Afri Orchids will hold its International Garden Festival this weekend. The event will be held on Saturday from 08:00 to 17:00, and Sunday from 09:00 to 15:00, at the tea garden. The Blue Gate will run the wine bar.

Anthophiles will be treated to a range of orchids and other plants, which include tillandsias, rare succulents, aroids, ferns, Ecuagenera orchids, bizarre tropical-carnivorous and Hamlyn orchids-Jamaica.

Afri Orchids has grown these plants for more than 40 years and has collected a large number of rare and interesting species over this period. All the orchids are grown on the farm and the nursery prides itself in selling only well-established plants.

Jolisa Grobler of Afri Orchids said the programme on that day includes lessons on how to grow cycads.
“We will have jewellery, ceramics and art in the tea garden.”
