Road open following CIT heist in Dwarsloop

The R40 at Dwarsloop had been closed.

Following the bombing of a Fidelity cash vehicle at 07:00 on September 2, which resulted in the closure of the R40 near Dwarsloop Mall, the road has been reopened.

According to the Bushbuckridge SAPS, ten armed assailants escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, three rifles and a handgun belonging to security guards.

One of the security guards sustained serious injuries when the vehicle overturned. He was rushed to the nearest hospital for medical attention.
