Fly-In Festival not to be missed this weekend in Lydenburg
One of the main attractions of the day will be the Goodyear Eagles air show display.

An aerobatic display not often witnessed over the town, will again be showcased this weekend.
The Fly-In Festival will take place on Saturday September 10. The gates open to the public at 07:00.
One of the main attractions of the day will be the Goodyear Eagles air show display. They represented South Africa at the World Advanced Aerobatic Show and are legendary for their flying talents. Their first show will take place at 10:00 and another at 12:30.

The festival is much more than the display of various airplanes showcasing their flying talents. Visitors can also enjoy browsing through the stalls during the day while listening to live music.
Moonshine Country Blues Band, one of SA’s best country blues bands, will perform at 11:00 and 17:00.
The well-known singer, Piet Pompies (alias Peter Rischmiller), is on stage at 12:00 and the RKO group at 15:00.
Another highlight is Anton Myburgh at 18:30.
A mesmerising fire performance by The Inferno Fireflies with Elaine Arts and Hunter followed by a firework show is planned for 19:30. This then is to be followed by the Frikkie Show at 21:00 and greenlight sound from 22:00 till midnight.
The day is hosted by all the members of the Lydenburg Flying Club, also known as the Fall Lydenburg Legends.
Children’s rides and entertainment are part of the programme. In addition, eight hockey teams will battle it out from 08:00 to 12:00, and a netball game is scheduled for 12:00.

The show takes place at the Lydenburg Airfield. Turn right at the Roossenekal road sign on the R36 Lydenburg/Dullstroom road and follow the signs.
There is limited camping space available for Friday and Saturday only. Tickets are R150 per person, R70 per child, R70 per pensioner and children under six years old are free. The festival is held to support the local community and businesses.
