Steiltes couple robbed at gunpoint
The couple were robbed of household appliances and a vehicle.
Three armed men robbed a Steiltes home and held a couple at gunpoint at 18:30 on September 8.
A provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said three robbers demanded the keys to the couple’s two vehicles, a grey Ford Ranger and a Mitsubishi Lancer.
He said the men tied their two victims up using cable ties and shoe laces before loading household electrical appliances and other items and leaving with the Mitsubishi.
At 23:00 that same evening, the robbers came back to the house and left the Mitsubishi before driving off with the Ford Ranger.
“The victims managed to get to Nelspruit Police Station where a case of house robbery was registered,” said Mohlala.
“The Nelspruit Flying Squad responded, and found the Ford Ranger abandoned next to the Jerusalem Graveyard in Masoyi at 01:00 on Friday, September 9.”
He said the car’s dashboard was damaged.
