Steelpoort artist wins coveted national award
Best traditional gospel artist category accolade.

A local artist in the music fraternity, Matete Mphela, made Tubatse proud when he clinched an accolade during the Mzansi Traditional and Cultural Music Awards on August 27 in Gauteng.
Mphela won an award in the best traditional gospel artist category.
He is known as a vocal artist, an actor and singer, and also as the character of Moruti Letolo on the local radio drama, Naa papa ke mang, on Tubatse FM.

The talented man who hails from Tsakane Ga-Malekane, released his debut album Ha le pots in 2018, which was frequently played on national TV channels like Trace Gospel and Dumisa TV.
He was previously nominated for various awards such as the Sepedi Music Awards.
Mphela is also active in his community, assisting the needy and vulnerable.
“As a founder of the Limpopo Gospel Conference, I will continue to share love and provide more wheelchairs to the disabled.

“We recently gave away 15 wheelchairs in various communities within Fetakgomo Tubatse, in conjunction with Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine and Thobela FM.
Mphela said, “I would like to thank everyone who has supported my career.”
He is putting final touches to his album, Re lefeletse which is due to be released in October.
