Cameron Street in Mbombela closed due to fallen tree

Motorists are advised to use alternative roads to avoid delays.

Motorists are advised to avoid Cameron Street in Mbombela, near the Buscor depot, due to a fallen tree blocking the road.

The City of Mbombela (CoM) is in the process of clearing it. The CoM’s spokesperson, Joseph Ngala, said the street is currently completely blocked due to the tree and its branches all over the road.

It is believed the tree fell over due to old age.

“Our team is currently on the ground, trying to clear the street. In the meantime, motorists are advised to use alternative roads. There is no estimation time when the road will be cleared. We are pleading with motorists to be patient with us while our officials are working on the road,” Ngala said.

The founder of We Care 4 Nelspruit, Pr TJ Maré, said they are monitoring the situation, and if no action is taken, they will intervene. “We will give the municipality a chance to clear the road, but if they don’t do anything, we will mobilise our team to go and clear it,” he said.
