Dignfied Diamonds charity has a wider reach than Lydenburg

Ayeesha Cassim and Longtom SuperSPAR partnered to collect female hygiene products.

Thousands of girls are absent from school for at least one week a month because they do not have access to female hygiene products and sanitary pads.

That is why Ayesha Cassim has placed a donation bin in Longtom SUPERPAR on October 7, in which clients can donate these products to her charity, Dignified Diamonds. The owner and management of Longtom SUPERSPAR fully support this initiative.

Cassim founded Dignified Diamonds in 2020, when she was a grade 11 learner at Hoërskool Lydenburg (LHS). She was inspired to make the distribution of female hygiene products her charity of choice, leading up to her winning the Face of LHS in 2020.

Her initiative has grown tremendously and now has branches in Mpumalanga, Johannesburg and Durban. “Dignified Diamonds aims to ease the hardship and stress on young girls and to live life to the fullest. These hygiene care packs are something they need. This initiative helps the girls to continue with their daily activities and not miss out on school,” said Cassim.

Heidi Betz, Mrs Universe SA 2022’s first princess, will be assisting her with handing out the bags of items in November.

Contact Cassim on 060 622 3627 or ayeshacassim92@gmail.com for enquiries or donations towards the charity. More information is available at www.dignifieddiamonds.com.
