N4 between Strydomblok and Komatipoort cleared and reopened
The highway has been opened again, but due to traffic congestion, motorists can expect a delay of a few hours before things revert back to normal
The N4 between Strydomblok and Komatipoort has been reopened after being closed due to a recovery of a fuel truck that overturned yesterday, May 6.
The spokesperson for the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Moeti Mmusi, said traffic congestion was caused by the recovery. TRAC N4 officials and law enforcement personnel are on the scene to assess the situation.

“They had to close the road in order to drain the gasoline to protect motorists since fuel is regarded as dangerous goods and can be harmful. They had to do this first before they could remove the truck. After the recovery, the N4 was reopened. However, due to congestion, motorists can expect a delay of between two and three hours before traffic goes back to normal,” Mmusi said.
He pleads with motorists to be patient, or they should rather use an alternative route
