By-law enforcement officer accused of murder denied bail in Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court
A murder accused was denied bail and was remanded in police custody.
Abednego Mbuyane, accused of shooting and killing a transport inspector, was denied bail in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court today, May 10.
His case was rescheduled to June 28 for further investigation.
According to the provincial Hawks’ spokesperson, Captain Dineo Sekgotodi, Mbuyane appeared today to make his bail application, however the state was successful in opposing it, and he was remanded in custody.

Mbuyane, a by-law enforcement officer, had been arrested by the Hawks’ Mbombela-based Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit for the alleged murder of Thomsanga Nkosi at Kwanyoni Lodge on April 15.
“Nkosi and a female friend had booked in at the lodge. While they were in the chalet, the woman’s husband emerged and kicked down the door. It is alleged that Nkosi ran out of the chalet, and the husband followed him and fired shots. The victim was shot twice and succumbed to his wounds. The suspect fled the scene, but later handed himself in at Nelspruit Police Station,” said Sekgotodi.
