Residents are still in shock after the grim discovery of a charred body in the bushes at Ga-Makofane Village outside Burgersfort on May 10.

Speaking to Steelburger/Lydenburg News, the Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, said they are investigating the case.

“We can confirm that the Tubatse SAPS of the Sekhukhune District Municipality is investigating a case of murder that happened at Ga-Makofane between May 9 and 10.

“The police received information about the scene and upon arrival, the body of a burnt man was found in the veld.”

Ledwaba said the man was burnt beyond recognition and tyres were found around his waist.

“The deceased’s age is estimated between 30 to 40 years. He was apparently burnt at the same place.”

Malesela said that there is still no information and the suspects and the motive for the killing are unknown.
