UPDATE: Search for missing anaesthetist continues around Mbombela

The search for Mbombela anaesthetist Dr Nicholas Procter started around the Elawini bridge this morning, February 1. It has since moved on to other areas around the city.

The Nelspruit police and the White River Flying Squad are continuing the search for the missing Mbombela anaesthetist, Dr Nicholas Procter (40), around the city after he was reported missing this morning, February 1.

The search started at the Elawini bridge. He had reportedly not shown up for work this morning. His car was later found parked on the bridge, but he was nowhere to be seen.

The Ehlanzeni Police Diving Unit and Sarza Lowveld were called to the scene to search the Nels River and the bushes surrounding the bridge with the help of the flying squad, the police, ER24 and several local security companies.

The search stopped just after 12:00, and according to a provincial police spokesperson, Captain Magonseni Nkosi, is being continued by the police around other areas in and around the city.

He said the investigations into Procter’s disappearance are ongoing. He asked that anyone with any information of Procter’s whereabouts call the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or send information via the My SAPS app.

The Nelspruit Police Station may also be called on 013 759 1008. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.
