Bennie Boekwurm Speelgroep in Mbombela raises funds
This preprimary school raised some funds with the sale of 700 burgers and paninis. The money will go towards buying wooden dollhouse furniture and educational toys, and repairing the jungle gym.
The Bennie Boekwurm Speelgroep held another successful fundraiser on March 8, selling burgers and paninis to raise funds for the school.
The preprimary school’s principal, Eulalia Jordaan, said they had managed to sell 700 burgers and paninis.

She said the school had also decided to donate R3 from each burger’s sale to Grace Baby Haven, which totalled just over R2 200. The handover was done on March 11.
Jordaan said the teachers of Bennie Boekwurm Speelgroep and some parents who had volunteered to help were kept busy for most of the day, making the burgers and handing out the orders.

A competition was also held for the children who were able to get the most pledges to buy burgers.
She said the money will go towards buying new furniture for the wooden dollhouse at the school, as well as on educational toys and repairs to the jungle gym.
“The parents were really so supportive and it was very successful overall,” said Jordaan.

There will be another similar fundraiser for the school later in November.
