Sonpark market sees record attendance on Mother’s Day in Mbombela

The market was graced by 89 stalls that were selling beautiful handmade and home-made products, artwork and delicious food.

The Mother’s Day Sunday Market held at Sonpark saw a record-breaking number of people attending, and the mums were properly spoilt with many freebies.

Some 89 stalls at the bustling market sold beautiful handmade and home-made products, artwork and delicious food. Zippy the Clown and some face painting entertained the little ones.

BAIC Mbombela’s car display was a big drawcard for the dads, and also treated the mums to some free Slush Puppies. Chery had its beautiful new Jaecoo J7 on display, as well as the latest Omodo.

Mrs Mpumalanga finalists Zhané Botha and Sonnika Janse van Rensburg handed out some flowers, sponsored by the Stucky Motor Group, to all the mothers.

The local artists, Havanna Music with Passion, weaved their magic with a variety of beautiful songs, especially for mothers. Raffle tickets were sold for a Mother’s Day hamper with some goodies donated by the stalls at the Sunday market.

Proceeds were donated to Huis Betlehem and Dasha School.

The atmosphere was filled with music and laughter; indeed, a market for the mothers to remember.

The next Sunday Market @ Sonpark is on June 9.
