Three people sustained serious injuries and another one sustained slight injuries in an accident that involved a bakkie, sedan, and truck near the Toyota dealership on the R40 in Mbombela today, October 10.

The spokesperson for the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security, and Liaison, Moeti Mmusi, said injured people were the occupants of the two vehicles, and they were all taken to the nearest hospital for further medical treatment. The truck driver was not injured.

“It is unclear what caused the accident at this stage, but investigations are under way. The road has been cleared traffic is moving I would like to request motorists to always adhere to the rules of the road all the time. They must overtake when it is safe to do so,” he said.
