5 children and taxi driver sustain slight injuries in accident in White River

The accident involved a Toyota Quantum and a car on the R40 in White River.

Five children, aged six and seven, and a taxi operator sustained slight injuries in an accident on the R40 near White River Crossing around 11:00 today, November 21.

Multiple emergency medical services transported them to Rob Ferreira Hospital.

According to a spokesperson for the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Zandile Mavuso, the accident involved a light motor vehicle and a Toyota Quantum transporting schoolchildren from Victory Park Primary School in Hillview in White River.

No injuries were reported from the light motor vehicle.

The necessary services are on the scene to facilitate the recovery. Motorists are advised to approach that section of the road with caution.
