14 people injured in taxi accident on R40 in Rocky Drift

The road is closed for those heading towards White River as emergency services work to clear the scene.

Two people sustained serious injuries in a collision between a car and a taxi on the R40 in Rocky Drift this evening, November 26.

Twelve others were treated for minor to moderate injuries by various emergency medical services.

According to Emer-G-Med’s Martin Jeffrey, one of the people who were seriously injured had to be extricated from the car by the Mbombela Fire and Rescue Department.

He said the patients were transported to hospital by the various medical services.

The lane heading in White River’s direction is closed to allow for the recovery of the scene.
