Barberton Primary School awards its top achievers

The best pupils of Barberton Primary were recently honoured at a prize-giving.

At a prize-giving at Laerskool Barberton Primary School on December 5, 900 certificates and numerous trophies where handed out to those learners who had excelled in academics, sport and culture.

The parents of the grade ones to sevens attended the prize-giving during the course of the morning, while the prestige prize-giving took place in the evening.

Taskeen Cassim received the dux trophy for the top academic achiever. PJ Ntimane received the Barberton Prize Trophy for the best achievement overall in leadership, academics and sport.

Kayla Zwane was crowned the sports girl of 2024 and Sinenjabulo Mhlongo was awarded the sports boy of 2024.

The new leaders for 2025 were also announced. They are Mary Thwala, Carli Hex, Cadey Cloete, Kayla Zwane, Shereen Haq, Monikita de Jager, Khono Shongwe, Sammy Mthethwa, Ethan Westcott, Faiz Chati, Lucius Thumbu, Eliezer Osei Owusu, Mnali Nkosi and Thando Thwala.
