Melkbosstrand mum in urgent need of help to pay for daughter’s treatment

A single mother from Melkbosstrand needs help to pay for her daughter’s asymmetrical plagiocephaly treatment helmet.

Sloane Kruger, a four-month-old baby girl and one of a set of twins, needs urgent help.

Colette, a single mother from Melkbosstrand, is facing a challenging situation. Dr Charné Schoeman of Malcolm Freedman & Associates in Cape Town recently diagnosed Sloane with asymmetrical plagiocephaly, a condition that causes a baby’s head to become flat or misshapen due to consistent pressure on one area.
Unfortunately, the family’s medical aid does not cover the cost of the helmet Sloane needs for treatment. They only have until Sunday, January 12, to raise the necessary funds, otherwise, they will have to restart the treatment process from the beginning.

“While the primary goal is to raise the R38 000 necessary for the helmet, additional funds will be needed for follow-up doctor’s visits. Any contribution, big or small, will be greatly appreciated,” said Tania Innes, Sloane’s aunt who lives in Mbombela.
