Four suspects arrested in Barberton face various charges
The operation was a response to the grievances raised by the Barberton community during an engagement with the deputy minister of police.

A sting operation in Barberton that commenced on Friday evening and continued into the early hours of today, March 15, resulted in the arrest of four suspects aged 26 to 33.
A Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Brigadier Donald Mdlhuli, said these arrests pertain to serious offences such as murder, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, violation of a protection order, as well as housebreaking and theft.
The apprehended suspects are scheduled to appear in the Barberton Magistrate’s Court on Monday, March 17, facing various charges related to their alleged criminal activities.

Mdlhuli said: “This operation was conducted in response to some concerns raised by the Barberton community during a recent engagement with the deputy minister of police, Cassel Mathale, and some senior SAPS officials, who vowed to address their grievances promptly.”
The acting provincial police commissioner, Major General Dr Zeph Mkhwanazi, urged the public to co-operate with law enforcement by providing crucial information that might assist in addressing crime effectively.
“Similar activities should be expected as we tackle crime issues in Barberton. What we request is the space to execute our duties, and we will do this without fear or favour,” he said.
