BREAKING NEWS: Elderly couple attacked in Renosterkop

A manhunt is underway for multiple suspects involved in a violent attack on an elderly couple.

An elderly couple was attacked at Renosterkop on Monday evening, May 12, by an unidentified group of men.

According to John Meintjes of ACS Spartan, the two were attacked in their home, where the man was tied up and brutally beaten.

“At this stage we are not sure how they accessed the property and what the suspects managed to steal from the couple’s house. However, officers are currently on the ground looking for the suspects. Police have been notified and they are on the scene. The injured victim was rushed to the hospital for medical attention,” Meintjes said.

Meanwhile, provincial police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, confirmed the incident and said that police officers are on the scene.
