Tubatse Cricket Club manages a clean sweep against TUT

Tubatse Blind cricketers won by nine runs while the first team won by 175 runs.

Tubatse Cricket Club (TCC) were victorious in two matches played against the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) on the weekend of May 17 and 18. The games were played at Tubatse Crossing Regional Mall.

The first match played on May 17 saw the Tubatse Blind cricketers defeat their counterparts from TUT by nine runs in a T20 match. TUT won the toss and decided to field first, Tubatse managed 143 runs in 20 overs. In their chase, TUT were all out during the 20th over with 134 runs on the board.

On Sunday, TCC locked horns against TUT’s first team in another T20 match.

TUT won the toss and elected to field first. TCC made an imposing target of 248 runs in 20 overs with the help of Imran Khan who made 123 runs off 38 balls.

Rochelle Ayub, a director of TCC, hands TUT’s captain Bongani Chauke a runners-up trophy.

When TUT batted, they were all out with 73 runs in the 15th over. Yahya Mukardam was the standout player; he took four wickets to hand Tubatse a 175 runs win.

TCC’s management thanked all the supporters, members of Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the Limpopo Department of Sports, Arts and Culture for honouring the games.
