Burgersfort taxi association patroller killed, passenger wounded

The motive behind the attack is still unknown.

A local taxi association patroller has been shot and killed by unknown suspects in Ga-Madiseng on June 20.
The incident has led to the Limpopo SAPS launching a search for the perpetrators.

They fatally wounded the man and injured his passenger during the incident.

“The police were reportedly summoned to the Dilokong Hospital where two men were brought for medical assistance. One, aged 41, was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body, and the other also sustained several gunshot wounds,” said the Limpopo SAPS’s spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba.

“The driver was certified dead. His identity is currently being withheld, pending further investigations.”

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victims were in a taxi association vehicle when they were attacked.
He said the motive behind the shooting is currently unknown but the police are investigating cases of murder and attempted murder.
