Two groups of four participants volunteered to sit in a Suzuki Jimny for 24 hours to encourage shoppers to make donations. The challenge proved to be a huge success with the organisation raising over R73 000.
Rinella Jansen van Vuuren, CANSA Lowveld’s sustainability co-ordinator, said:

“The idea behind the car sit-in is to collect donations in a fun and unusual way.”

Lowvelders were challenged to sleep and sit in the vehicle for 24 hours to show their support for patients in need.

Well-known figures like Coenie Naudé of Radio Lowveld, Mrs Mpumalanga finalists and Lowvelder’s own Gia Radnai joined the fun. Other locals also spent an hour in the boot to raise bail money and, thereby, strenghening CANSA’s funds.
