Truck overturns on N4 near Montrose, delays expected

Emergency personnel are on scene to recover the overturned articulated truck.

Motorists travelling on the N4 are strongly advised to avoid the section between Montrose and Poplar Creek following a major accident involving an overturned articulated truck today, November 4.

The road is currently operating under a stop-and-go system. According to Solange Soares, spokesperson for TRAC N4, one lane has been closed to facilitate the recovery of the truck and clear the scene, which is causing delays.

Motorists are urged to use alternative routes, such as the Elands Valley.

The spokesperson for the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Moeti Mmusi, said they are aware of the incident. He also confirmed that while the details of the accident are not yet available, emergency personnel are actively working on the scene to remove the large vehicle.

Mmusi called for drivers to approach the area with extreme caution and to avoid the route if possible. The priority is to allow emergency services to safely and efficiently clear the obstruction.
